The 44th Annual Diversity Career Fair (In-Person) is the must go-to event if you're looking for a job or internship. This popular fair will connect you with a broad range of employers from technology, healthcare, construction management, consulting, social services, and various local and federal government agencies, to name a few.
The fair is open to ALL UW STUDENTS, ALL MAJORS (Business, STEM, and Arts & Sciences,) and ALL CLASS LEVELS (Freshman-PhD.) Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to meet one-on-one with employers that are committed to supporting UW students and alumni from all backgrounds, cultures, and identities.
NEW PARTNERS:
Office of Minority Affairs (OMAD) which serves 6,500+ students with academic advising, instructional support, mentoring, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities
Q-Center which enhances a brave, affirming, liberatory, and celebratory environment for students, faculty, staff, and alumni of all sexual and gender orientations, identities, and expressions,
Ethnic Cultural Center which offers student (All Majors) advising, organizational development, personal growth, and referrals to different departments and programs.
Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP). and supports underrepresented students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
BACKPACKS: Given the high number of expected attendees, BACKPACKS will not be allowed into the event. Personal items (e.g., coats, backpacks) may be checked into HUB 214 for the duration of the fair.
HANDSHAKE MOBILE APP: The booth map & assignments will be posted in Handshake prior to the fair. Each employer booth will have a QR code for students to check-in; this allows the company to access your profile and/or follow-up with guests after the event.
PRE-REGISTRATION: Although not required, attendees should "join" the Handshake event, as employers can then pre-screen your Handshake profile and possibly contact you prior to the fair.
Steps to Prepare for This Fair:

Research employers in advance

Identify employers that interest you the most

Arrive early to allow time to interact with employers

Collect business cards

Send a thank you note to interested companies you meet at the career fair

Complete any online applications as requested by employers

Attend fair prep sessions and/or have your resume reviewed by any UW Career Center
-
Business casual attire is recommended.
